GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College Director of Career Services Dr. James Thrasher ’80 will be featured on the nationally syndicated “Money Matters” radio program 1:30-2 p.m. Jan. 31 to discuss the Career Services Office at the College and its listing as No. 17 for “Best Career/Job Placement Services” by the Princeton Review.
The interview will be aired locally on WORD 101.5 FM, and will include a review of the No. 17 ranking, a summary of the Career Services program and the use of Crown’s Career Direct Assessment tool with freshmen for past decade.
“We are honored by this national ranking,” Thrasher said. “We see it as confirmation of our commitment to help students in their realization and pursuit of God’s calling for their lives.”
Grove City College is one of the “Best 366 Colleges” and is named to 13 lists, according to The Princeton Review’s 2008 guide. The rankings in the “Best 366 Colleges” are based on The Princeton Review’s survey of 120,000 students and highlight 60 some categories that encompass student life, value and academics, as well as other unique categories, such as social habits, student personality and politics.
“Money Matters” is heard on more than 450 stations nationally, and features commentary by host Howard Dayton and various expert guests. The program also includes consumer-oriented features and Bible-based commentaries aimed at helping people become good and faithful stewards.
Thrasher first joined his alma mater as an employee in 1984. Besides leading the Career Services Offices, he is also assistant professor of humanities and religion and the 2007 recipient of the Florence E. MacKenzie Campus-Community Award.
