Grove City College congratulates the winners of The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation’s 9th Annual Business Plan Competition held on April 29 on campus. The awards were presented to social enterprise and commercial enterprise teams. Each first-place team received in-kind legal consulting, accounting and web-based services valued at $6,750, in addition to their monetary reward.
Taking top honors in the social enterprise category, worth $3,000, was Thenga Energy by seniors Kyle Baer of Bedford, Pa.; Rachel Paul of Venetia, Pa.; and Chris Marasco of Washington, Pa. Second place went to Funds of Faith by senior Joseph Dorris of Oreland, Pa. Dorris received $2,000 for the honor. Third-place honors, worth $1,000, went to CARE by senior Marc Mentzer of Lancaster, Pa.
The commercial enterprise winner was ModPod Homes by seniors Michael King of Grove City, Pa.; Jayna Grassel of Delmont, Pa.; and Ryan Misenheimer of Charlotte, N.C. The team received a reward worth $3,000. Second place, worth $2,000, was Sharie Kaye by sophomore Sharon Seiter of Boonton Township, N.J. Third-place honors went to Tora Kata by juniors Jonathan Cutler of Ballston Lake, N.Y., and Philip Kinney of Petersburg, Mich. The team received $1,000 for their efforts.
