GROVE CITY, Pa. – “Resurrectionists,” a short story written by Grove City College senior English major Amanda Martin of Silver Spring, Md., will be published in the “Three Rivers Review” in April.
The review, published by the University of Pittsburgh, seeks to showcase undergraduate writers from Pittsburgh area colleges and universities who have crafted unique and moving pieces of fiction and poetry. Martin’s short story was chosen as one of three staff selections by the editors of “Three Rivers Review.”
“Resurrectionists,” crafted in Martin’s creative writing course, taught by Dr. Eric Potter, professor of English, is a fictional tale about seeing versus being seen. The story tells of a deceased woman, Candle, who once revived from the dead by two men, ultimately questions whether awakening her human consciousness is worth the pain it brings her.
Copies of the “Three Rivers Review” will be available at the University of Pittsburgh Honors College, 3500 Cathedral of Learning; the William Pitt Union, 3959 Fifth Ave.; and at Cailban Used & Rare Books, 410 S. Craig St.
