spacer
March 22, 2011

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College presents “Exploring science and scripture,” featuring astrophysicist, author and science-faith think tank founder Dr. Hugh Ross on March 31 and April 1 on campus. The event, co-sponsored by the Department of Physics and The Center for Vision & Values at Grove City College, will reveal how cutting-edge research and key biblical principles agree.

On March 31 at 7 p.m. in Sticht Lecture Hall of the Hall of Arts and Letters, Ross will discuss “An Astronomer’s Quest.” The presentation, which will be followed by a Q&A session, is free and open to the public.
Ross will also provide four other lectures throughout the two-day event, intended for the Grove City College campus community and students and faculty of studies in science, faith and technology courses only. The lectures include:

• March 31, noon: “Grand Designer: Mindless Physics or Personal God?,” Rockwell Hall, Room 218
• March 31, 2 p.m.: “Why the Universe Is the Way It Is,” Hall of Arts and Letters, Sticht Lecture Hall
• April 1, noon: “The Origins of Life and Humanity,” Hall of Arts and Letters, Room 208 (SSFT only)
• April 1, 1 p.m.: “The Origins of Soulish Animals,” Hall of Arts and Letters, Room 208 (SSFT only)

Ross, an astronomer with a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, researched quasars and galaxies as a post-doctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology. He is an internationally known speaker and president of Reasons To Believe, an organization dedicated to showing that science and faith are, and always will be, allies not enemies. Ross is also the author and co-author of 10 books, including “Creation as Science, Why the Universe is the Way It Is” and “More Than a Theory.”
