SOCIAL VISIONARY BILL STRICKLAND TO SPEAK |

GROVE CITY, Pa. –The Grove City College Department of Entrepreneurship 2009-2010 Visionary Entrepreneurship Speaker Series continues with a presentation by social architect Bill Strickland at 7 p.m. on Feb. 17 in Sticht Lecture Hall in the Hall of Arts and Letters on campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Strickland, chief executive officer of Manchester Bidwell Corp., will speak on “The Art of Leadership.” Through his leadership, Manchester Bidwell has become an innovative non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring positive social change for inner-city teenagers. The organization is home to several initiatives focused on the arts and education, including Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild, Bidwell Training Center and the National Center for Arts and Technology.
Author of “Make Impossible Possible; One Man’s Crusade to Inspire Others to Dream Bigger and Achieve the Extraordinary” and a 1996 MacArthur “Genius” grant recipient, Strickland has gained recognition as a visionary and community leader. Strickland’s success has even attracted the attention of former President George H. W. Bush, who appointed him to a six-year term on the board of the National Endowment for the Arts.
