GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College music students will present three joint senior recitals on Dec. 8 and 9 in the Recital Hall of the Pew Fine Arts Center on the Grove City College campus.
Daniel J. Byerly of Sharon, Pa., will present a joint recital with Alexander Frazier at 11 a.m. Dec. 8. He will offer piano selections from Domenico Scarlatti, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Clara Schumann and Alberto Ginastera. A son of Richard and Catherine Byerly, he is a student of Terri Konzen.
Kayla Carpenter of Montoursville, Pa., will present a joint recital with Krista Schmidt of Woodbine, Md., at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 8. Carpenter, a daughter of Dennis and Gretchen Carpenter, will perform horn and soprano selections from Mozart, Frederic Handel, Johannes Brahms and Franz Strauss. She is a student of James Scanga and Joanne McFarland and will be accompanied by senior Joseph Severyn of Dayton, Ohio.
Schmidt, a daughter of Jim and Carol Ann Schmidt, will perform clarinet selections from Carl Maria VonWeber, Georges Marty, Francis Poulenc and Gerald Finzi. A student of Louis Colella, she will be accompanied by sophomore Aaron Biller of New Park, Pa.
Nicholas Smith of Freeport, Pa., and Christopher Harrison will present a joint recital at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 9. Smith, a son of Jeffrey and Donna Smith, will perform alto saxophone selections from Bernard Heiden, Eugene Bozza, Pierre Lantier, Henri Eccles and Darius Milhaud. He is a student of Colella and will be accompanied by Severyn.
All College recitals are free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
