At Grove City College, career decision making is viewed as a life-long process of personal development. Our programs and services will introduce you to this approach to career development which offers a framework for thinking through your career goals and strategies. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive array of career development programs and events to help you at every stage of your career explorations and decision making.

Career Development Programs
The Career Services Office will host a number of career-related programs throughout the 2009-2010 academic year for current Grove City College students including:
Freshmen "Exploring Your Calling" Program Saturday, August 29, 2009, Pew Auditorium
This program during orientation introduces freshmen to the Grove City College Career Services Office and to the concept of "calling" when thinking about the world of work.
Resume Writing Seminars Wednesday, September 9, 2009 and Wednesday, February 3, 2010
In this seminar, the Director of Career Services will teach students how to create dynamic resumes and cover letters. Both seminars will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the TLC Auditorium.
Resume Blitz Days Tuesday, September 15, 2009; Tuesday, September 29, 2009; Thursday, October 15, 2009; Thursday, December 10, 2009; Tuesday, February 9, 2010; Thursday, March 11, 2010; and Thursday, May 6, 2010
Students have the opportunity to drop in the Career Services Office on a first-come, first-served basis for a 15-minute appointment to have their resumes reviewed on these days. Hours are from 10 a.m. - noon and 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Professionalism "Know-How" Night Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in Old MAP
At this dinner/workshop, students will learn tips on how to demonstrate proper etiquette and professional skills when interacting with prospective employers.
Wednesday Walk-Ins Various Wednesdays throughout the school year
Students may drop in for a 15-minute walk-in appointment to see a counselor on a career-related matter. Contact Career Services for a full listing of these dates.
CSO Comes to You! Various days throughout the school year
Career Services Staff members go out to various spots around campus to meet with students on any career-related matters. Be on the lookout for us!
How to Work A Career Fair TBA, HAL Sticht Lecture Hall
This seminar prepares our students for the annual fall Career Fair by providing them tips on how to navigate the event and come across professionally and effectively to employers. A recruiter will provide students with information on how to ensure that their day at the Career Fair is a success.
Career Fair Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the IM Room of the Physical Learning Center
The Annual Career Fair is Grove City College's signature recruiting and networking event. Last year, we had over 150 organizations (companies, graduate schools, seminaries, law schools, non-profits) attend the event and approximately 1100 students from all years and majors go through the fair.
WestPACS Job/Internship Fair Wednesday, November 4, 2009 and Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Monroeville Convention Center
Internship Search 101 Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in HAL 113
This presentation will take students through the basics of how to search for an internship.
Internship Fair Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Breen Student Union Great Room
Grove City College students represent their summer internships to current students sharing with them their experiences and advising them on how they might obtain the same internship at their organization.
Alumni Mock Interview Week December 1-4, 2009
Alumni return to Grove City College and schedule 30-minute mock interviews with current students for students to practice their interviewing skills. The first twenty minutes of the interview is scheduled for interview questions, and the last ten minutes is scheduled for constructive feedback, questions, and advice.
Camp Fair Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the Breen Student Union Great Room
A number of representatives from summer camps and ministry organizations come to the college to recruit students for various summer positions.
Junior Career Meeting Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the HAL Sticht Lecture Hall
This mandatory meeting prepares juniors for their senior year job search and educates them on how to take full advantage of the Career Services Office in that process.
Career Counseling and Resume Consultation
Current students can meet with a career counselor to discuss a variety of topics including their major, resume, interviewing, career options, job search strategies, and much more!
Career Services Library
The Career Services Office has a library available for students to use from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The library has three computer work stations, a printer/copier, and a number of resources (books, guides, magazines, etc.) for students to use in their career search.
Mock Interviews
Students can schedule a time to conduct a mock interview with a career counselor. This allows students the opportunity to hone their interviewing skills and receive constructive feedback in order to prepare for internship and full-time job interviews.
Presentations/Workshops
Career Services' staff members will conduct presentations to various student groups on numerous career-related topics throughout the year.
On-Campus Recruiting
Each year the Career Services Office invites organizations on-campus to interview and recruit Grove City College students for internship and full-time job opportunities. Career Services scheduled 216 on-campus visits during the 2008-2009 academic year.
