SCHOLAR LEADS OFF SERIES ON PROTESTANT REFORMER |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – In conjunction with the 500th anniversary of John Calvin’s contributions to the Protestant Reformation, Grove City College’s Student Government Association and the Department of Religion will host Dr. Justyn Terry as the first of a lecture series on Calvin’s life and works. Terry will speak at 7:15 p.m. Sept. 24 in Sticht Lecture Hall of the Hall of Arts and Letters on campus.
Terry will speak on Calvin contributions to the history and doctrine of the Anglican Church. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is part of the second annual Grove City Evangelical Scholarship Conference. This year’s conference consists of a series of lectures entitled “1509-2009: 500 years of John Calvin.” The lecture is open to the campus and the community. A question-and-answer session will follow.
Terry is dean and president of Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pa. Terry is ordained in the Church of England and former rector of St. Helen’s Church in West London, England. He received his Ph.D. from King’s College in London. He recently published “The Justifying Judgment of God.” Terry is a resident of Sewickley, Pa., where he lives with his wife, Cathy, and their two daughters.
Future conference speakers include Dr. T. David Gordon, Grove City professor of religion, former College president Dr. Charles S. MacKenzie and Dr. J. Ligon Duncan.
