ROBERTS TO RECEIVE HERITAGE AWARD |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Susan Roberts, Grove City College head volleyball coach, associate athletic director for women and professor of physical education, is the recipient of the Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance 2010 Division of Sport and Athletics HERitage Award.
The award recognizes Roberts as a woman who has made an outstanding contribution to women’s sports. She will be given the award at a ceremony held Nov. 13 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Champion, Pa.
Roberts is in her 26th season as head volleyball coach at Grove City College. During her tenure, she has led the Wolverines to nine Presidents’ Athletic Conference championships, three Eastern College Athletic Conference Southern Championships and was named National Coach of the Year in 1985 after a 41-1 season.
At the College, Roberts has coached women’s basketball, softball and volleyball and is the only coach in the PAC to win conference titles in three different sports. She is currently No. 12 among active women’s volleyball coaches in Division III for victories and the College’s all-time leader in victories with 703 total wins.
The Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance is a non-profit education association which seeks to provide quality programs and professional development in the disciplines it represent. The association encourages healthy lifestyles by all people in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
