GROVE CITY, Pa. – The sixth annual Ronald Reagan Lecture, presented by The Center for Vision & Values at Grove City College, will feature bestselling author, commentator and director of Carnegie Mellon University’s Center for International Relations and Politics Kiron Skinner on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m., in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. The lecture is free and open to the public; registration is encouraged.
Skinner, an expert in international relations, U.S. foreign policy and political strategy, is a W. Glenn Campbell Research Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, serving on the Shultz-Stephenson Task Force on Energy Policy. She has also earned membership on several defense and national security related organizations.
Skinner is editor of Turning Points in Ending the Cold War, a landmark work in international history featuring a collection of essays by leading American and Russian statesmen and scholars. She has coauthored The Strategy of Campaigning: Lessons from Ronald Reagan and Boris Yeltsin, as well as New York Times best sellers Reagan, In His Own Hand and Reagan, A Life in Letters. Skinner also serves as a frequent contributor to CNN.com, National Review Online, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
Appointed to the advisory board of the George W. Bush Oral History Project, Skinner is also on the boards of the Atlantic Council of the United States in Washington, D.C., Propel Schools in the Pittsburgh area and Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. She is a member of Pacific Council on International Policy in Los Angeles and the Council on Foreign Relations in New York City.
Skinner holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in political science and international relations from Harvard University and undergraduate degrees from Spelman College and Sacramento City College. She also is a recipient of an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Molloy College on Long Island.
The Center inaugurated the annual Ronald Reagan Lecture featuring author and radio talk show personality Michael Reagan in 2007. Each year, the event has provided eyewitness testimonials to the leadership style and guiding principles of President Reagan.
