GROVE CITY, Pa. – The home of Grove City College’s WSAJ radio station will be dedicated in honor of an alumna at 2 p.m. April 24 in the Technological Learning Center on campus.
The newly renovated Dorothy Newman Wilson ’43 Memorial Radio Studio was given in her memory by H. Randolph Wilson ’42. Dorothy, or “Dot,” worked in the radio station as a student and Randy was a staff announcer.
When the Wilsons were students, the studios were in Founders Hall on lower campus, where the original footprint of Grove City College began. When the Rockwell Hall of Science was built in 1931, the radio station was moved to that building, then later to the basement of Ketler Hall in 1979.
Today, the home of WSAJ in the Technological Learning Center brings together all of the studio and control equipment in the same building. The new studio features state-of-the-art digital audio equipment; purpose-built custom cabinetry; a large observation window; new ergonomic furniture; and a separate news and audio production studio across the hall, which is also viewable via observation windows.
Those interested in WSAJ and College radio broadcasts are invited to attend the dedication.
