Graduation ceremonies feature attorney, pastor Attorney David M. Lascell, chief counsel for Grove City College during the landmark Supreme Court case in the 1980s, will address approximately 576 graduates at 10 a.m. May 17 in an outdoor Commencement ceremony on the Quad between Harbison Chapel and Crawford Hall. Pastor Robert Thune will offer words of wisdom to students at a 7 p.m. Baccalaureate ceremony on May 16, also planned for the Quad. He is senior pastor at Southwest Community Church in Indian Wells, Calif., and preaches weekly to a congregation of approximately 3,000. Dr. David Jones named Professor of the Year Retiring Professor of Biochemistry Dr. David Jones was named the 2008 Grove City College Professor of the Year at a ceremony in Harbison Chapel on May 1. Jones, who joined the Grove City College faculty in 1990, will retire at the end of the semester. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Bethany Nazarene College, his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and his Ph.D. from Cornell University. Read more>>
