Student Card
Each current Grove City College student will be issued an identification card. This card must be carried at all times while on campus and presented upon request. This card gives current students privileges and access to services and events across campus ex. Food service, library, PLC access, Chapel attendance, dorm access, etc. If an ID card is lost, immediately notify the Campus Safety office at x2111. The missing card will be immediately deactivated. All lost or damaged cards can be replaced at the ITS office for a cost of $20 (see below). After office hours you can acquire a temporary access card at Campus Safety to get into your residence hall. This card must be turned in when you either find your card or purchase a new card. The student ID card must be turned in to the Student Life office if you will be leaving the college for reasons other than graduation.
Proximity ID cards are made of PVC and contain an antenna coil and integrated electronic chip. In order to maintain the functionality of your card, follow these handling recommendations:
-
Place the card in a wallet, purse or appropriate carrying pouch.
-
Do NOT punch a slot or hole in your card. If requested, ITS will punch it for you.
-
Do not use the card as a key ring.
-
Do not use the card for any purpose other than access control, identification and other College services.
-
Do not leave in direct sunlight (for example, on the dash of a car).
-
Do not expose to extreme heat or open flame (for example, clothes dryers or irons).
-
Do not expose to liquids or cleaning materials.
-
Do not crimp, bend or twist card.
-
Do not re-laminate.
Replacement cards: To request a new ID card students must log in to myGCC: the campus portal (https://my.gcc.edu) and complete the ID Card Replacement form on the Sign-Up tab. All requests submitted before 10am will be processed and the card made available for pick-up after 11 am (business days only) at the ITS office. Contact Mrs. McKinney at 2299 with any questions you may have about your ID card. You may also purchase a temporary meal ticket in the dining hall for $20 if you lose your card on the weekend or right before a meal. You may turn in that meal ticket at the TLC and we will create a new ID card for you. You will not need to pay twice.
Faculty/Staff Card
Each faculty and staff member of Grove City College is issued an identification card. This card must be carried at all times while on campus and presented upon request. The card must be turned in to the Business Office upon termination of employment. This card gives the faculty/staff member privileges and access to services and events across campus. The photo taken for ID cards will also be displayed on myGCC.
Spouse Cards
A spouse of a Grove City College faculty or staff member may obtain an identification card. This card gives the spouse privileges and access to items and events across campus. A library barcode is on the card. It must be activated in the library during regular business hours. If they already have a library card, their account must be updated with the new card number and information.
Children of faculty/staff members will not be issued official GCC identification cards. If they wish to access services on campus they must follow procedures as stated by each department. For example, the child can only use the weight room if accompanied by the faculty/staff member or spouse carrying their ID card. The same applies to the library privileges. If the child is over 18 they may request a townsperson card in the library.
Please refer to individual offices/departments for more specific information on their procedures and policies.
