Finding your calling is a matter of looking inward and outward: looking inward by assessing your God-given skills, abilities, and talents, as well as the values, principles, and commitments on which you base your life; and looking outward by developing, addressing, and evaluating opportunities in a number of different career tracks.
Your career has a spiritual dimension and eternal consequences; it will provide daily rewards beyond a paycheck. Thus, it is important that you seek a career field that is in sync with the way God has designed you.
The job seeker who has taken the time to define her/her own calling and to examine how his/her skills might relate to an employment opportunity will find the job search exhilarating. It will take less time and is more likely to result in a fulfilling match.
The Grove City College Career Services Office has designed a number programs and offers many resources to students to help them identify their calling. We want each student to succeed in finding a career that will provide true meaning, purpose and satisfaction in their life. Above all, we want to help students make the transition from life at Grove City College to their vocational calling.
