Welcome to the fall edition of the Parent’s Association Newsletter!
Classes have begun and our students have completed their first task of the semester – moving in! Orientation Board took care of the new freshmen class, sports teams moved in early to begin practices for fall sports, and the staff unpacked their boxes at the newly refurbished Carnegie Alumni Center. Everyone is starting anew – be it the first time at college, on the sports team or in a new office – the fresh start that a new semester brings is exciting and enriching.
As co-Presidents of the Parent’s Association, we are moving into our third and last year at the helm of this organization and are here to assist you with any concerns or questions you may have throughout the year. We would also like to meet and visit with you. October 2-4 is Grove City’s Homecoming Weekend and we encourage everyone to attend. It gives parents the opportunity to visit with their students, to enjoy the annual parade, to see a great football game, to hear the All-College Sing competition and to worship at the Sunday Harbison Chapel service. It is a wonderful weekend and this year is very special as it is our 30th class reunion (!) so it would be great to see the Class of 1979 as well as other reunion classes!
If you are unable to attend this event you can still be a part of the college experience by offering any help in the way of career, internship, or employment information to our students through the Career Services Department. Your expertise and assistance would be greatly appreciated. The college and our students can also use your prayers for the semester ahead; prayers for good health, success, and steadfastness to the traditions and commitment that Grove City College represents and gives to each of our students.
As we move into these last months of 2009, know that our Association is here to represent you and assist in any way we can. Just contact our college partner, Elicia Winner, and she will direct your concerns with care and efficiency.
May God bless you all,
