ORCHESTRA TO PERFORM SPRING CONCERT |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Grove City College Symphony Orchestra will present its final concert of the academic year on April 8 at 8 p.m. in Ketler Auditorium in the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. The program will feature winners of this year’s concerto competition held in late January.
The winners of this year’s concerto competition include sophomore guitarist Robert Sheffer of York, Pa.; senior flautist Alexis Stave of Maple Plain, Minn.; sophomore violinist Christine Pang of Staten Island, N.Y.; and senior pianist James Pang of Staten Island, N.Y.
At the concert, Sheffer will present the “Concierto de Aranjuez” by Joaquin Rodrigo. Christine Pang will perform the first movement of Edouard Lalo’s “Symphonie Espagnole.” Christine Pang will be joined by Stave and James Pang for the third movement of the “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5” by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The orchestra will also perform the overture to “The Marriage of Figaro” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and “The Moldau” by Bedrich Smetana.
The full orchestra is led by Dr. Richard Konzen, professor of music.
