ORCHESTRA CONCERT SHOWCASES MUSICAL VARIETY |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Grove City College Orchestra will perform a variety of musical pieces in its fall concert at 8 p.m. Oct. 10 in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. The performance is free and open to the public; no tickets are required.
The concert will include the “Festival Overture,” by Dimitri Shostakowitch, “Three Dances” from “The Bartered Bride” by Bedrich Smetana, “Jupiter” from “The Planets” by Gustav Holst and a Robert Russell Bennett arrangement of music from the musical “My Fair Lady.”
The chamber orchestra will present Richard Wagner’s “Siegfried Idyll.” This work, written in 1870, was a Christmas present for his wife, whose birthday was Christmas Day.
