ORCHESTRA CONCERT FEATURES CONCERTO WINNERS APRIL 27 |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Grove City College Orchestra will present a concert featuring the winners of the annual Concerto Competition at 8 p.m. April 27 in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
Senior Debra Grden of Pittsburgh, Pa., sophomore Elizabeth Miller of Grove City, Pa., and freshman Sarah Parris of Chadbourn, N.C., earned top marks at the College’s Concerto Competition in February. Each will perform the winning entries with the Orchestra April 27. Grden will perform “Concerto in d minor for cello” by Edouard Lalo, Miller will present “Concerto No. 1 in g minor, Op. 26” by Max Bruch on the violin and Parris will perform Ludwig von Beethoven’s “Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Op. 15” on the piano.
The concert will also feature the “William Tell Overture” by Giacomo Rossini, conducted by senior David Tedford of Palmyra, Pa., and “Les Preludes” by Franz Liszt. The String Chamber Orchestra will present “Two Pieces for Small Orchestra” by Frederick Delius.
