FACILITIES
The Hopeman School has excellent facilities that provide support for classroom learning. The Mechanical Engineering department supports laboratories for machine design, thermal/fluid systems, instrumentation, mechanical systems, and a fully equipped machine shop with CNC equipment. These laboratories provide state-of-the-art equipment and computer workstations that are fully compatible with the color, DVD+/-RW equipped tablet PCs that all students receive as part of the Information Technology Initiative. Adjacent to Hoyt Hall, the Weir C. Ketler Technological Learning Center houses the department’s computer aided design laboratory that includes 16 high-end computer workstations. All classroom and laboratory facilities provide wired and wireless network access.
ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Grove City College will award up to four $2,500 scholarships to incoming engineering freshmen who show academic promise and outstanding leadership qualities. Most (not all) of the scholarships require students to demonstrate financial need. Recipients may have their scholarship renewed for the next three years if they maintain a superior QPA (3.0 or better) and prove to be good campus citizens. The total value of each scholarship is $10,000. In order to compete for the scholarship, students must submit an Engineering Scholarship Reference Form to the Financial Aid Office by March 15. To be considered for the need based Engineering Scholarships, the Grove City College Financial Aid Application must also be submitted by March 15, one month before the normal deadline. These forms and additional information on the Engineering Scholarship Program can be found in the Financial Aid area of the Grove City College website at www.gcc.edu.

CAREER AND GRADUATE SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES
The goal of any undergraduate engineering program is to prepare its students for industry and/or graduate school. The faculty feel that their job is not complete until graduates have achieved one of these goals. Together with the Career Services Office, the department faculty will assist you in the process of seeking employment. Our placement record is outstanding, as illustrated by the large number of high quality companies who recruit our graduates. These companies include Armstrong World Industries, Babcock & Wilcox, Ballinger, Bechtel Bettis, Inc., Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc., Bloom Engineering, The Boeing Company, Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America, Burt Hill (U.S. offices and Dubai, United Arab Emirates), DEKA Research & Development, Eaton Corporation, General Dynamics Electric Boat, General Electric Energy, General Electric Transportation, Joy Mining Machinery, Lincoln Electric, Lockheed Martin, Poclain Hydraulics (Verberie, France), and Westinghouse Electric Company. Department faculty assist students who are interested in pursuing graduate study with search and admittance procedures.
