“What can I do with an Entrepreneurship major?” or “Can I get a job with an Entrepreneurship degree?” These are legitimate questions of parents and students who invest years and thousands of dollars in their college education. With entrepreneurship we invite and enable you to create your own future or use the more traditional channels of our excellent career services organization.
Think about it; does a week go by without the media affirming that entrepreneurship and small business are the economic engines of the modern economy? Is there an existing excellent company that isn’t looking for employees who will innovate, take ownership, and act as intrapreneurs in their firm? Entrepreneurship provides the business knowledge, develops the critical skills, and assists in the creation of the professional network you need to succeed in any endeavor you choose. We empower you to take charge of your future.
At the same time, we realize that new graduates sometimes need assistance in taking that first employment step, hence our internship and mentoring program, as well as the opportunity to continually network with business owners and entrepreneurs and access to our superb career services.
The Career Services Office provides the structure and opportunity to pursue a more traditional job search through an on-campus annual career fair, extensive job opportunity listings, and personal concern for each student. Career Services conducts seminars on resume and cover-letter writing and professional networking, as well as conducting mock interviews and providing one-on-one job search counseling.
What about graduate school? We believe our graduates should work for 1-3 years prior to pursuing graduate education such as an MBA because the best programs integrate their adult students’ work experience into the learning process. However, when our graduates do seek graduate school studies they are very well received by the finest programs in the country such as Wharton, Penn State, Arizona State, and Duke University.
