GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College’s Opera Workshop performance is set for 7 p.m. Monday in the Little Theater of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
Opera Workshop is offered in the fall and spring semesters and features performances at the end of each semester for students to present selected scenes from operas.
The performance will feature a number of Grove City College students: Seniors Abigail Gagnon, Amy Hundertmark, Robbie Hackman and Lauren Maertens; juniors Brian Jinks and Ariana Thompson; and sophomores Casey Woodcock and Jaime Hsieh. They will perform scenes from Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutti” and “The Magic Flute,” Gounod’s “Faust,” Tchaikowsky’s “Eugene Onegin,” Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Patience” and “H.M.S. Pinafore,” and Leonard Bernstein’s “Trouble in Tahiti.”
Accompanists are seniors Jonny Priano and Dan Byerly and junior Josh List. The Opera Workshop is under the direction of Guest Lecturer in Music Susan M. Young.
