MEDICAL SCHOOL CONFERENCE SET FOR MARCH 17 |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College will sponsor its bi-annual on-campus Medical School Conference from 8 a.m. to noon March 17 in the Hall of Arts and Letters. The conference is designed to connect undergraduate students with representatives from medical schools and assist them in the decision-making process as they prepare for a career in medicine.
Participating institutions include Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, SUNY Upstate Medical University and West Virginia University School of Medicine.
The Medical School Conference is sponsored by the Medical Sciences & Health Professional Program of Grove City College every other year on campus, alternating bi-annually with the Health Professions’ Conference. The coordinator is Dr. Mark Weber.
The conference will feature a reception followed by two panel discussions and medical school presentations. The schedule of events, all in the Hall of Arts and Letters, follows. School presentations will be in first floor classrooms; the rest of the sessions will be in Sticht Lecture Hall.

The admissions panel discussion will feature admissions representatives from each medical school, who will be presented with five fictitious student applicants and asked to describe the qualities that are desirous or deterrents for their respective admission requirements. Additionally, the philosophy, mission and unique qualities of the individual programs will be shared. The student panel discussion will feature current medical students from each school, who will respond to questions from the audience regarding the qualities of their school, its philosophy and highlights of their education. The school presentations will give prospective students two opportunities to participate in brief question-and-answer periods with medical school representatives.
