Renowned Japanese artist Makoto Fujimura made his first visit to campus on March 18 to present "The Calling of the Artist” as the final lecturer in the Humanities Speakers Series. The series brings outstanding scholars and artists to campus to talk about timely subjects relating to the humanities core.
He created the TriBeCa Temporary project, which gave artists a place to display 9/11-inspired artwork. The author of “Refractions: A Journey of Art, Faith and Culture,” he is founder of The International Arts Movement.
