spacer HOMECOMING 2007 OFFERS FULL SLATE OF ACTIVITIES

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College’s 2007 Homecoming is an excellent opportunity for members of the community to visit the campus. The weekend features traditions like the Homecoming Parade and the Jack Kennedy Memorial Alumni Achievement Awards Ceremony, which honors Craig Jones ’74, Tom Langmyer ’83 and Judith (Parker ’76) Zenowich, and the Distinguished Service Award to Robert W. Smith ’59 on Oct. 5 in Mary Anderson Pew Hall.

A number of events are open to the public, including:

Thursday, Oct. 4
3-7 p.m. ~ Art exhibit, featuring paintings of former faculty member Margaret Williams, Pew Fine Arts Center Gallery
8 p.m. ~ Homecoming Praise and Worship Service with the Rev. Jonathan Shirk ’01 – Crawford Auditorium

Friday, Oct. 5
3-7 p.m. ~ Art exhibit, featuring paintings of former faculty member Margaret Williams, Pew Fine Arts Center Gallery

Saturday, Oct. 6
All day ~ WSAJ live broadcast – Ketler Residence Hall Patio
8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. ~ Bookstore open – Breen Student Union
9 a.m.-5 p.m. ~ Art exhibit, featuring paintings of former faculty member Margaret Williams, Pew Fine Arts Center Gallery
9:30-9:45 a.m. ~ President Richard G. Jewell ’67 Homecoming welcome – Breen Student Union
9 a.m. ~ Women’s alumni lacrosse game – IM fields
10 a.m. ~ Men’s alumni lacrosse game – IM fields
10 a.m. ~ Women’s alumni water polo game – Physical Learning Center competition pool
10 a.m. ~ Women’s alumni soccer game – upper field
10:15 a.m. ~ Men’s Alumni Soccer Hall of Fame introductions/alumni game (10:30 a.m.) – varsity field
11 a.m. ~ Women’s alumni volleyball game – WolvArena
11 a.m. ~ Men’s alumni water polo game – Physical Learning Center competition pool
11 a.m. ~ Homecoming Parade – “Cities Around the World” – upper campus, down Pine to Broad Street (see related release)
11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. ~ Lunch, cost is $8.75 for adults and $4.50 for children – MAP Café, Hicks Café
Noon-4 p.m. ~ Future Grovers Play Area, Hospitality Tent, Greek Village and more – main quad
Noon-5 p.m. ~ Franktuary Hot Dog Stand, catering by Tim Tobitsch ’03 and Megan Lindsey ’03 – tent at main quad flagpole
1 p.m. ~ Student Government Association tailgate party – base of Rainbow Bridge
1:15 p.m. ~ Float awards/pre-game show – Thorn Field
2 p.m. ~ Grove City College vs. Bethany football game – Thorn Field
Half-Time ~ Wolverine Marching Band performance and crowning of 2007 Homecoming Queen and King – Thorn Field
3 p.m. ~ Men’s alumni rugby game – IM fields

Sunday, Oct. 7
10:30 a.m. ~ Homecoming Worship Service with the Rev. Dean Weaver ’86 – Harbison Chapel
