B.S. in Chemistry

Do you feel like you made any concessions to come to a school that is reasonably priced?
No way! If anything, the cost is what drew me to the College. Who can beat a great education at a great cost?

How was your faith strengthened, and perhaps even challenged, during your time here?
I think that my faith was challenged during my time at Grove City College. There are so many great faith-based organizations and activities on campus, but it is very important to me to learn why I believe what I believe. It was sort of a self-discovery journey.

How would you describe the level of academics you experienced during your time at Grove City College?
Challenging. I knew Grove City College was rigorous academically, but I was not expecting such high expectations. It was wonderful. The teachers really push you to succeed.

What is the relationship like between the students and the professors?
That was probably my favorite thing about the college. All of the professors are so kind and genuine. They take the time to get to know their students and help in any way possible. Several of my professors invited my peers and I over for dinner or to a bonfire. This really shows their level of commitment.

What led you to choose chemistry as your major?
I was originally a biochemistry major, but I fell in love with chemical synthesis. In addition, I wanted to work in industry where there tends to be more positions for chemists than biochemists.

How would you describe the relationship that the students have with each other on campus?
You cannot go anywhere on campus without bumping into someone that you know and saying, “Hi.” The students also make the college a safe environment. I think this says a lot about the integrity of the student body.
