Orchestra concert features Bernstein, Hanson and Hasper

The Grove City College Department of Music presents the College Orchestra’s annual Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 26 in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on Campus.

The concert is free and open to the public. The orchestra will be conducted by Jeffrey M. Tedford ’00, assistant chair of the Department of Music and director of Orchestras.

The concert will feature Howard Hanson’s Symphony No. 2 “Romantic,” with all three movements being performed. In addition, the orchestra will perform “Suite for a Short Time,” a new composition by Music Theory professor and Jazz Ensemble Director Dr. Joseph Hasper. The orchestra will conclude with a selections from “West Side Story” in celebration of Leonard Bernstein’s 100th birthday – the 2018-19 school year would have been Bernstein’s 100th birthday.
