Should I apply as a freshman or transfer student?
High school students who have taken college level courses and have not yet graduated may apply as a freshman student. Any applicant who has already completed high school and has enrolled at a regionally accredited institution for any college classes should apply as a transfer student.
How do I find out whether courses that I have taken will transfer?
Incoming Freshman: All courses are reviewed by the Registrar’s Office on a case by case basis, depending on course equivalencies and expected learning outcomes. I will work closely with the Registrar’s Office to have your courses evaluated and get you a preliminary determination. The College will also grant credit if appropriate academic standards have been met through Advanced Placement, College Level Examination Program, or International Baccalaureate.

Transfer Credit Requirements
- Courses from a regionally accredited institution with a “C” grade or better are accepted. “P-Pass” grade are not accepted and require a grade equivalent of at least a “C.”
- Grove City College requires 128 credits to graduate. Transfer credits may not exceed 50 percent of the total credits toward graduation. You may only transfer up to 50 percent of the credits required for any major, minor, certification or concentration.
- Transfer students who have attended institutions without regional accreditation, the Registrar’s Office will review transcripts for credit on a case by case basis.
Do I have to take SAT or ACT?
Yes, your official SAT and/or ACT scores are required as part of your application materials.
What is the application deadline for transfer students?
Applications for the fall semester are accepted throughout the spring term. There is a deadline of two weeks before the fall semester begins. Transfer admission applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so applicants will be notified as decisions are made.
When can I transfer to GCC?
Transfer students may be accepted for either fall (September) or spring (January) term.
What are the application requirements?
Requirements include: Grove City College Application, $50 nonrefundable application fee, your official SAT and/or ACT scores as well as your official high school transcript, two letters of recommendation, confidential transfer student reference form from the Dean of Students or Student Affairs Office from your previous school, transfer semester report form(If applying for admissions for the spring semester)
Will my grades transfer?
Transfer credits do not enter into the computation of a student’s quality point average at Grove City College.
What are the requirements to transfer?
Acceptance to the College is determined by the quality of your application submission, SAT/ACT scores and college transfer grades, availability with your declared major, and residence space on-campus. On-campus interviews are optional but highly encouraged. You must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 to qualify for admittance.
