Professional Experience
I am deeply interested in helping people understand more about finance and demystifying the subject. Finance is a very powerful tool, and it impacts everyone, whether that person is a mathematical genius or an average Joe.

Since I started teaching here in 2015, I have realized that everyone can learn more about finance if they humble their hearts and put their mind to it. It is very exciting to me, and if you take my courses, I will do my best to help you achieve the goal of obtaining financial literacy.

I believe that our financial resources, regardless of the amount, are a blessing from God. We all need to make good use of them. If you have financial knowledge, you will be better able to manage your resources wisely. At the end of the day, all of us should want to hear from our Creator, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23b).

I am also the advisor of the investment society on campus—Crimson Collegiate Investors. It is wonderful to see that these students are using their knowledge to make real-world investment decisions. Being close to Pittsburgh, our students are connecting well with professional investors there, including the Chartered Financial Analyst Society in Pittsburgh. I also advise students who participate in the CFA Research Challenge.

Courses

  • Principles of Finance
  • Investments
  • Financial Modeling
  • International Finance

What is the most important piece of advice you give students to help them succeed?
Make good use of the chapel program here—dive deep into those times, don’t just be there for the attendance credits. While we can, we should take every opportunity to learn to believe in Jesus, trust Him, and follow Him. There may be dry seasons in life when we need the Word more, and you will be better equipped if you have used the chapel times well.

Is there any personal experience you would like to share?
I attend East Main Presbyterian Church in Grove City, and I am on the sound system team there. In Amherst, Mass., where I studied for my Ph.D. degree, I participated actively in Amherst Chinese Christian Church as a deacon and fellowship leader. I am also a fan of the Chelsea Football Club, but I will not judge you if you are a fan of another club (and please do not judge me)!
