College choirs combine to perform seasonal favorite ‘Messiah’

The Grove City College Department of Music will present a performance of Handel’s “Messiah (Part I)” at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, in Harbison Chapel on campus.

Grove City College's combined Chapel and Touring choirs, under the direction of Dr. Katherine Mueller, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities, will sing this much-loved holiday work. Dr. Richard Konzen, professor of music and College organist, will accompany the choirs.

“Handel’s ‘Messiah’ was first performed in 1742, and has become one of the world’s most beloved works,” Mueller noted. “It contains some of the greatest choruses ever written and is a wonderful way to start the holiday season.”

The performance is free and open to the public. For more information, call 724-458-2088.
