Campus-Community Award nominations sought

Grove City College is now accepting nominations for the 38th annual Florence E. MacKenzie Campus-Community Awards.

Two awards will be presented: one to a Grove City College campus awardee and one to a greater Grove City Borough awardee, each of whom meet the criteria of working to bring the College and borough together in meaningful, beneficial ways. The deadline for nominations is Oct. 31.

Individuals, businesses, campus student groups and community groups who exemplify this spirit of collaboration and partnership between the College and the greater Grove City community are eligible. Nominees for both awards must have met the criteria through volunteer, non-profit effort, not through their employment or other required interaction.

To nominate a qualified individual or organizational group for a Campus-Community Award, please email cmshaw@gcc.edu or complete the online nomination form available at alumni.gcc.edu/campuscomm2021 by Oct. 31.

The award is named for Florence E. MacKenzie, wife of former Grove City College President Dr. Charles S. MacKenzie. Her efforts and involvement included serving as president of Grove City Woman’s Club, the Women’s Bowling League, secretary of the local United Way and president of the Grove City Hospital Board of Trustees, today known as AHN Grove City. The awards have been presented since 1983.
