Student artwork to be featured in exhibition on campus

he Pew Fine Arts Gallery at Grove City College presents the bi-annual Student Art Exhibition April 27 to May 4 in the Pew Fine Arts Center.

The exhibition will feature artwork from students participating in current Communication and Visual Arts courses, including ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and design.

“We have very creative students on campus, many of whom take our courses” says Kathy Rhoades, gallery director and assistant professor of visual arts. “Many have brought skills with them and many have never had an art course before and have learned a new skill and found new appreciation for art. They work hard and put in many hours to complete projects. We are proud of this effort and use this exhibit to showcase their talent and skills.”

An artist’s reception with refreshments will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. April 28. The reception will include a celebration of the newly combined Department of Communication and Visual Arts and feature a brief talk by

Department Chair Dr. Jennifer Mobley, art displays by student artists who will be available to discuss their work and poster presentations by student researchers in communication.

Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 28 and 29; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 30. This exhibit is free and open to the public.
