Music prof to serve as guest conductor at regional festivals

Grove City College Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Orchestral Activities Dr. Jeffrey Tedford ’00 will serve as guest conductor for several regional honors orchestra festivals.

Tedford will conduct the Adams/Cumberland County Music Educators Association High School Honors Orchestra from Nov. 17 to 19 in Camp Hill, Pa. This festival includes high school orchestra students from the counties and will conclude with a public performance at Cedar Cliff High School.

In January, Tedford will guest conduct the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 4/6 Orchestra at Somerset (Pa.) High School. The Jan. 26 to 28 festival will include over 100 students from Districts 4 and 6. In addition, Tedford will guest conduct the West Virginia All-State Middle School Orchestra from March 2 to 4 in Charleston, W.V. This festival will include approximately 60 orchestra students.

Tedford is the director of the College and Chamber Orchestras. He teaches string methods and conducting classes. He received his undergraduate degree in music education from Grove City College, his masters in conducting from Carnegie Mellon University and his doctorate in music education from Shenandoah University.
