GROVE CITY, Pa. – Dr. Gillis Harp, professor of history at Grove City College, served as a guest speaker at the Church Society’s annual conference held at Wycliffe Hall of Oxford University in early July. The conference, “The Eclipse of the Gospel,” discussed current issues facing the Church of England and the rise of Anglo-Catholicism.
Harp’s presentation, “The Collapse of Evangelical Anglicanism in North America,” addressed the apparent disappearance of evangelicals within the Episcopal Church.
The Church Society seeks to uphold biblical teaching and to promote and defend the character of the Church of England as a reformed and national church. The society works through publishing, supporting churches, campaigning and the administration of charitable trusts and properties.
