GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College Dean of Enrollment Services and Registrar Dr. John Inman has been honored as a 2007 Distinguished Member of the Robert Morris University chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
In a Sept. 16 ceremony, Robert Morris inducted Inman and two other honorary members along with new active student members. Inman was selected as a model of the society’s mission to honor and inspire academic excellence and engaged citizenship for a lifetime. Inman earned two post-graduate degrees from Robert Morris: a Master of Business Administration in 1996 and a Doctor of Science in Information Systems and Communications in 2002.
A 1988 graduate of Geneva College, Inman joined Grove City College in 1994. He previously served as assistant dean of enrollment services and registrar. With his recent appointment as dean, Inman assumed responsibility for the Admissions Office, in addition to the Registrar and Financial Aid offices.
Inman was appointed to the registrar position in 2001, after serving as associate registrar. He also completed two years as Teams Elite project manager, in which he directed a campus-wide conversion to a new administrative software system. Earlier in his Grove City College career, Inman was the director of distributed computing and led the College through six years of the Information Technology Initiative. A major part of the initiative was the one-computer-per-student program and Grove City College was one of the first colleges in the country to offer every student personal laptop computers and printers upon enrollment.
The National Society of Collegiate Scholars program honors outstanding academic achievement among first- and second-year college students. The society offers benefits including scholarships, leadership development, travel opportunities and career resources. There are active chapters at 228 colleges and universities nationwide, in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Chapters are involved in service to their campus and local communities, as well as scholastic and social activities.
