GRANDDAUGHTER OF COLLEGE FOUNDER DIES AT 95 |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Eleanor (Ketler) Larry, granddaughter of Grove City College’s founder and wife of Trustee Emeritus R. Heath Larry ’34, passed away Nov. 20, 2011, at the age of 95. She lived in Delray Beach, Fla.
Eleanor Larry is the granddaughter of Isaac Ketler, founder of Grove City College, and the daughter of Dr. Weir Ketler ’08, president of the College for 40 years (1916-56) and his wife, Ellen. She is a 1937 Grove City College graduate and that year’s May Queen.
The Larrys were very involved in civic and philanthropic activities in the Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania area. Eleanor and Heath are the parents of three sons, David, Dennis and Dick. Their extended family includes many Grove City College graduates. Survivors include husband Heath, three sons, two daughters-in-law, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral plans are pending.
