An increasing number of Grove City College students express interest in graduate and/or professional education after graduation. Our rates of acceptance into programs of the students’ choosing (including many of our nation’s top universities) has been quite high. The faculty members with whom they’ve spent the past four years studying are invaluable resources in researching graduate school opportunities. A well-established relationship between advisor and advisee, grounded in a consistently strong performance in the classroom and a cultivated interest in the specific discipline or profession in which the student desires further study, is essential to successful graduate school preparation, research, selection, and admission. Faculty advisors are only too glad to help in whatever capacity they are able. Thus, when students begin to consider graduate education, we advise them to begin speaking with the members of their academic department as early as possible about their intellectual interests and professional aspirations.
