FOUR STUDENT PERFORMANCES EARN SPOTS IN CONCERT |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Four performances topped the 15th annual Grove City College Concerto Competition Jan. 30.
Winners will perform during the April 24 orchestra concert at 7 p.m. in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. They are: sophomore Danielle Henry of Lyons, N.Y., who performed “Carmen Fantasy” by Francois Borne; sophomore Jimmy Pang of Staten Island, N.Y., who performed “Concerto in D Major for Violin” by Johannes Brahms; junior Sarah Parris of Chadbourn, N.C., who performed “Second Concerto in g minor for Piano” by Camille Saint-Saens; and sophomores Emily Stumpf of Baltimore, Md.; Alexis Stave of Maple Plain, Minn.; and Jimmy Pang of Staten Island, N.Y., who together performed “Brandenburg Concerto No. 4” by J. S. Bach.
Judges for this year’s competition were Dr. Nanette Solomon, professor of piano at Slippery Rock University; Dr. Misook Yun, professor of voice at Youngstown State University; and Mr. Michael Gelfand, professor of cello at Youngstown State University and the conductor of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra.
