Shortly before his retirement as senior writer, he was ranked among “The Wall Street Journal’s” top 10 sports columns in 2007, and in 2008, he was a finalist for “ESPN the Magazine’s” Green Eyeshade Award. He has written cover stories on Michael Phelps, Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin. As a freelance writer, Adelson has contributed articles to “Newsweek,” “Details” and “Boston Magazine.”
Adelson has appeared on “SportsCenter,” “Pardon the Interruption” and “ESPNews,” and has been an occasional guest on “Jim Rome is Burning.” He has reported for “SportsCenter” and “Outside the Lines” and reported live from the 2004 and 2006 Olympic Games. In 2009, Adelson released his first book, “The Sure Thing,” an unauthorized biography of Michelle Wie. He graduated from Harvard and earned his master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of Journalism.
