spacer FAMILIES TO CELEBRATE PARENTS WEEKEND 2010

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The 2010 Grove City College Parents’ Weekend is set for April 30 to May 2. The theme of this year’s event is “All the places we’ll go…” The weekend features concerts, plays, pageants, the eighth annual Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition, the Recognition Convocation service and the traditional Spring Pageant and crowning of the Spring Queen and Spring King.

A special sneak preview of the annual Spring Dance Show, with the theme “We Are Now Approaching Our Destination,” begins at 8 p.m. April 29 in the Physical Learning Center Arena. The public is welcome to attend this event and no tickets are required.

The Tau Alpha Pi One-Act Festival will also open at 7:30 p.m. April 29 in the Pew Fine Arts Center Little Theater. Free tickets are available; e-mail theatertickets@gcc.edu or call (724) 458-3331 and leave a message. In both cases, include your name, number of tickets requested and date and time of show. The schedule for Friday through Sunday follows:

Friday, April 30
9 a.m. – Noon 8th Annual Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition – Non-Profit, Hall of Arts and Letters, Sticht Lecture Hal
1:30 – 5 p.m. 8th Annual Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition – For-Profit, Hall of Arts and Letters, Sticht Lecture Hall
3 p.m. Varsity Baseball vs. Washington & Jefferson (weather permitting), R. Jack Behringer Baseball Field
6 – 10 p.m. Student Art Exhibit, Pew Fine Arts Center, Art Gallery
6 p.m. Tau Alpha Pi One-Act Festival, Pew Fine Arts Center, Little Theater. Free tickets are available; e-mail theatertickets@gcc.edu or call (724) 458-3331and leave a message. In both cases, include your name, number of tickets requested and date and time of show. Seats for non-ticket holders will be available from 5:45 until curtain, as space allows.
8 p.m. Symphonic Band Concert, Pew Fine Arts Center, Ketler Auditorium
Followed by Spring Queen, King and Court introductions

9 a.m. – 2 p.m. WSAJ Radio Live Broadcast (91.1 FM). Live from the Student Union
9:30 a.m. Recognition Convocation, Harbison Chapel. Prelude by the Touring Choir at 9:30 a.m. Convocation begins at 10 a.m.
10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Carnegie Alumni Center, Open to all campus guests
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Lunch, Hicks Hall – adults, $6.40; children under 12, $3.50

10:30 a.m. Morning Worship with Dean of the Chapel Dr. F. Stanley Keehlwetter: “An Eye-Opening Experience,” Harbison Chapel.
