GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College mechanical engineering students associated with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers will host Grove City High School students for “Engineering is Fun Day” on April 9 from 9 a.m. to noon in Hoyt Hall on campus.
The event will challenge the high school physics students to create, explore and learn about engineering, while mixing fun with learning. The engineering students will provide a hands-on learning experience, including a competition to assist the high school student to learn more about buoyancy by instructing them to construct an object that is designed to float while carrying a load.
The knowledge the high school students gain from the event will help prepare them for their upcoming advanced placement exams.
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers seeks to promote the art, science and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe. The Society of Women Engineers establishes engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. The organization empowers women to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recognized for their contributions and achievements as engineers and leaders.
