GROVE CITY, Pa. – Carol Magee, one of Grove City College’s longest-serving employees, retired from her position at the College after 45 years of service. Magee’s last day was Aug. 24, 2007.
Magee started and ended her Grove City career on the telephone. She began her work on June 14, 1962, as the College’s first full-time telephone operator. She completed her years at the College as senior dispatcher in the Campus Safety department. In that position, she routed incoming calls, paged officers and campus tradespeople as needed and monitored the campus security cameras.
Magee also worked in the College’s Business Office and in the Bookstore, where she spent more than 10 years and became the assistant manager.
She and her husband, David, reside in Grove City.
