The Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Gifting Program
The EFT Gifting Program is an electronic funds transfer gifting program that benefits the students at Grove City College.
The EFT Gifting Program is the most cost-effective, secure and efficient method by which Grove City College can receive donations from alumni, friends and parents. This sustained monthly giving program through electronic funds transfer benefits you and the College.
• Convenient – No more checks for you to write and mail. Your gift is electronically transferred each month from your bank account to the College.
• Affordable – The total amount of your annual gift can be spread over a period of 12 months.
• Timely – Your gift goes to work immediately.
• Raises Participation – The EFT Gifting Program contributes positively to the College’s annual alumni participation rate.
Here are answers to some Frequently Asked Questions about our Electronic Funds Transfer Gifting Program:
Q. How do I enroll in the EFT Gifting Program?
A. To enroll in the EFT Gifting Program, you must complete an Authorization Agreement and provide a blank check marked “void” prior to the first day of the month in which the first gift will be processed. The Development Office will send you a letter confirming receipt of the agreement. A trial draft of $0 will precede the first month’s gift transfer.
Q. When will gift transfers be made?
A. Gifts will be deducted on the 15th of each month (or the next business day). The first month’s gift may be processed later than the 15th.
Q. May I direct my gifts to a scholarship or a special project?
A. By notifying the Development Office in writing, you may request that your gifts be directed to any charitable fund that exists at the College.
Q. What happens if I don’t have enough money in my account at the time of the gift transfer?
A. Overdrafts do occur from time to time and charges may be incurred by both you and the College.
Q. How will this program affect my membership in Annual Giving Circles?
A. Cumulative giving during a fiscal year (between July 1 and June 30) is recognized annually in the donor recognition publication, Voices. Donors who sign up for the EFT Gifting Program during the year must be aware of the July-June fiscal year and adjust their gift transfer amount accordingly to qualify for giving level recognition.
Q. If my employer matches gifts, how will my company’s contributions be processed?
A. The Development Office will work with you and your employer in processing all matching gifts.
Q. How do I make changes to my monthly gift transfer?
A. The amount of the automatic gift transfer may be changed by contacting the Director of Donor Services at Grove City College and completing a new Authorization Agreement. Changes in bank information will require submitting a voided check.
Q. How do I discontinue enrollment in this program?
A. You may discontinue participation in the EFT Gifting Program at any time with written notice to the Development Office at Grove City College. Please be aware that written notice must be received by the Development Office prior to the 10th of the month in order to stop a payment on a scheduled gift transfer.
Q. May I authorize a one-time gift?
A. Gifts may be processed on a one-time only basis for any amount. Contact the Development Office for details.
