GROVE CITY, Pa. – Eric Metaxas, author of “Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery,” which inspired the feature film, “Amazing Grace,” will speak at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 in Crawford Hall Auditorium on the Grove City College campus.
Metaxas will discuss his acclaimed biography on pastor and author Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a notable participant in the German Resistance movement in World War II. The biography, “Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy,” was released in April 2010.
The lecture is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the faith and politics working group of The Center for Vision & Values at Grove City College.
An acclaimed author of numerous biographies, children’s books and works of popular apologetics, Metaxas has also worked as the editor of the Yale Record, the nation’s oldest college humor magazine, written for The New York Times and Atlantic Monthly and has appeared in The Washington Post, Regeneration Quarterly and Christianity Today.
Author of awarding-winning “Prince of Egypt A to Z” and bestseller “God Made You Special!,” Metaxas’ newest children’s book, “It’s Time to Sleep, My Love,” debuted in the Barnes&Noble.com’s Top 100 books in October 2008 and was hailed as the “Goodnight Moon” of the 21st century.
