Student Card
Each current Grove City College student will be issued a Crimson Card for identification purposes and for use of the Grove City College 1Card services.  This card must be carried at all times while on campus and presented upon request.  This card gives current students privileges and access to services and events across campus.  The services include:

  • Door access
  • Dining services
  • Crimson Cash
  • Laundry
  • Printing and copying
  • Library services
  • Chapel

Crimson Cash is a declining debit account that is available to every student free of charge.  There are several ways to deposit funds into your Crimson Cash account: myGCC, Financial Services, or using one of the Automated Deposit machines (ADMs) on campus.  Some of the advantages of using Crimson Cash are that it is safer than carrying cash, you can easily deposit funds 24/7, there is no need to carry coins to do laundry and discounts are offered at the GeDunk café and the College Bookstore when Crimson Cash is used.  More information can be found in the Crimson Cash brochure which is available from the Crimson Card Office (in the Technological Learning Center).
If your Crimson Card is lost or stolen, immediately report it as such to the Crimson Card Office during normal business hours or, if after normal business hours, to Campus Safety.  The office hours of the Crimson Card Office are posted on the bulletin board outside the ITS Office in the Technological Learning Center.
Temporary ID cards are available to provide students with an opportunity to recover their lost/stolen Crimson Card.  These temporary ID cards can be obtained from the Crimson Card Office during normal business hours or from Campus Safety after normal business hours.  Temporary ID cards issued by the Crimson Card Office are fully functional and expire after 48 hours, whereas temporary ID cards issued by Campus Safety provide door access only and expire after 24 hours.  All temporary ID cards must be returned within 24 hours of their expiration to avoid being charged $20.00 for their replacement.

Replacement Cards:  If you need to request a replacement Crimson Card, you can do so by logging into myGCC (https://my.gcc.edu) — campus portal — and then clicking on Sign-Up > ID Card Replacement.  The current replacement fee is $20.00 and this amount will be billed to your student account once a replacement has been requested.  Once your replacement card has been printed you will be notified via email to visit the Crimson Card Office to pick it up.
In order to maintain the functionality of your Crimson Card, follow these handling recommendations:

  • Place it in a wallet, purse or appropriate holder
  • DO NOT punch a hole in your card – if you do, you will be responsible for the purchase of a replacement card!  The campus bookstore sells various card holders for this purpose.
  • Do not use for any purpose other than the various GCC services
  • Do not leave in direct sunlight (e.g., on the dash of your car)
  • Do not expose to extreme heat (e.g., clothes dryer or iron)
  • Do not expose to any harmful liquids or cleaning materials
  • Do not crimp, bend or twist
  • Do not re-laminate

Faculty/Staff Card
Each faculty and staff member of Grove City College is issued an identification card.  This card must be carried at all times while on campus and presented upon request.  The card must be turned in to the Business Office upon termination of employment.  This card gives the faculty/staff member privileges and access to services and events across campus.  The photo taken for ID cards will also be displayed on myGCC.

Spouse Cards
A spouse of a Grove City College faculty or staff member may obtain an identification card.  This card gives the spouse privileges and access to items and events across campus.  A library barcode is also printed on the card, though it must be activated in the library during regular business hours.  If a spouse already has a library card, their account must be updated with the barcode on new card.
Children of faculty/staff members will not be issued official GCC identification cards.  If they wish to access services on campus they must follow procedures as stated by each department.  For example, the child can only use the weight room if accompanied by the faculty/staff member or spouse carrying their GCC ID card.  The same applies to the library privileges.  If the child is over 18 they may request a townsperson card in the library.
For more information on the policies and procedures governing the services of a spouse ID card, please refer to the particular department or office specific to that service.
