COLLEGE TO PERFORM TONY AWARD WINNING MUSICAL |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Tony Award-winning musical, “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” comes to life on the Grove City College main stage at 7:30 p.m. from Wednesday, Nov. 9, to Saturday, Nov. 12, in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. The musical is free and open to the public; tickets are required.
The musical, written by Rupert Holmes, is based on the unfinished novel by Charles Dickens. This murder mystery musical was the first Broadway production to allow the audience to decide the ending by means of a vote. Notable songs include “There You Are,” “Moonfall” and “Don’t Quit While You’re Ahead.”
The lead performers include senior Laura Tschirgi of Ellicott City, Md., as Edwin Drood; senior Tyler Crumrine of Ligonier, Pa., as Chairman; junior Emily Peterson of Phoenixville, Pa., as Rosa Bud; junior Stephen Horst of Woodbine, Md., as Jasper; senior Rachel Perry of Gibsonia, Pa., as Helena; junior Jacob Roberts of Bronx, N.Y., as Neville; senior Kate (Weingartner) Wade of Grove City, Pa., as Princess Puffer; sophomore Troy Beaudry of Pittsburgh, Pa., as Rev. Crisparkle; junior Samuel Leuenberger of Mercer, Pa., as Durdles; junior Michael Grennek of Belgium as Deputy; and freshman Jack Krimmel of Dillsburg, Pa., as Bazzard.
Dr. James G. Dixon III, chair of the department of English and professor of English, will direct the production, with the assistance of student director, junior Laura Sabatini of Carlisle, Pa. Junior Katie Hammes of Milford, N.H., will serve as stage manager, aided by senior technical director Elizabeth Moore of Mount Vernon, Wash.
The music director is David Barron with student accompanist sophomore Jeremy Dunn of Frenchtown, N.J. The choreographers are senior Kaitlin Mack of Avon Lake, Ohio; senior Samantha Mendez of Export, Pa.; and junior Joel Richardson of Butler, Pa.
