GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College is now seeking nominations for the 26th annual Florence E. MacKenzie Campus-Community Awards.

Beginning in 1971 until her death in 1981, Florence E. MacKenzie faithfully served both the college and the community. As wife of the fifth Grove City College President Dr. Charles S. MacKenzie, she sought to establish strong town-gown relationships. An active member of numerous local organizations, she served as president of the former Grove City Hospital’s board.

Nominations should include a letter stating why the nominee should be considered as well as a list of his or her achievements and activities. Nominees should be members of the community who seek to build strong relationships between Grove City College and the town of Grove City, rather than simply being active in one or the other. Two individuals will be honored -- one from the community and one from the College. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2008. The recipients of the 2008 awards will be announced in early October and honored with a reception in November.
