COLLEGE PROFESSOR AND COACH EARNS DOCTORATE DEGREE |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Dr. James Chinn, assistant professor of physical education at Grove City College, recently earned a Doctor of Education degree in instructional leadership from Argosy University in Sarasota, Fla. Chinn received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and master’s degree from Norwich University. He has taught at the College since 2003.
Chinn is currently entering his ninth year as an assistant football coach at Grove City College, serving as passing game coordinator, special teams coordinator and running backs coach. He joined the football staff after six years coaching for Blackburn College, including two years as head coach. Two years prior to working at Blackburn, he was an assistant coach at Denison University. During his career, Chinn has also coached football at Norwich University, Westerville South and Ironton Rock Hill.
This spring, Chinn will begin his sixth season as an assistant track and field coach at the College. He works primarily with the team’s throwing squad and helped lead the track and field team to three Presidents’ Athletic Conference titles since joining the staff in 2007.
