GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College will host the annual “Grove City Early Childhood Community Celebration” on April 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Intramural Room of the Physical Learning Center on campus. Sponsored by the Grove City Early Childhood Council, the event promotes an understanding of the importance of early childhood education and family involvement. The event is in accordance with the national observance of the “Week of the Young Child.”
All activities throughout the event will be literacy-based, including projects centered on acclaimed children’s books, which participants will have the opportunity to win. Refreshments will also be provided.
Families with children ages 8 and under are invited to attend. Children may donate coins in any of the donation containers located throughout the Intramural Room. All donations will benefit the children’s wing of the Grove City Community Library.
The “Week of the Young Child” is spearheaded by the National Association of the Education of Young Children, the world’s largest early childhood association dedicated to improving the quality of early education programs.
The Grove City Early Childhood Council, established in 2006, strives to support families of young children in the Grove City community.
