CARNIVAL MUSICAL COMES TO GROVE CITY COLLEGE STAGE |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The popular musical “Carnival” comes to life on the Grove City College main stage Nov. 10 - 13 in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. daily. Tickets are required but free of charge.
The story of a traveling carnival troupe reenergized by the orphan Lili Dourier was created by Michael Stewart based on material from Helen Deutsch, with music and lyrics by Bob Merrill. First performed in 1961, “Carnival” is best known for the songs “Carnival” and “Love Makes the World Go Round.”
The lead performers include senior Rebecca Sherman of Avon Lake, Ohio, as Lili; senior Daniel Barr of Beaver Falls, Pa., as cynical puppeteer Paul Berthalet; sophomore Stephen Horst of Woodbine, Md., as Marco the Magnificent; and senior Courtney Cameron of Jeanette, Pa., as The Incomparable Rosalie.
Professor Betsy Craig, associate professor of English and theater, will direct the production with the assistance of student director, junior Ashley Herreid of The Woodlands, Texas. The music director is David Barron with student assistant senior Kathryn Lear of Perkasie, Pa.
