WHAT ARE YOU MADE OF?

Dr. Jim Thrasher, Director of Career Services, encourages students to discover their purpose. 

What is the goal of an education? Many would say, "to get a job." We think that view is too limiting. At Grove City College we believe much of the purpose of an education is to discover how God has uniquely designed you for the world of work. Until you understand how God has "wired" you, thinking about majors and careers is premature and could lead to career dissatisfaction.

Dr. Jim Thrasher and the Career Services Office have found that, all too often, students take a reactive approach to choosing a career; making their decisions based upon job availability in a specific field, not their unique God-given calling. At Grove City College, Career Services is anything but a last-minute resume writing and interviewing class wedged into the senior year. Rather, Career Services personnel invest their lives in students as they guide them through a four-year process, teaching them life-long career planning skills.

"My hope and goal for students is that they will love what they do as much as I love what I do," Dr. Thrasher shared.
